“In this world, people are already losing interest in gigantic structures, that the topic of life-sized giant robots has died off, that the second Tokyo Tower comes only as no more than a passing thought.
There is no need to rebuild new railways, highways or airports, symbols of the Showa period, and naturally dam projects are cancelled. The world isn't asking for more gigantic structures.
However, I think it's natural for humans to be attracted to gigantic structures. At times they are a sign of power, and at times they are a display of faith, and so many gigantic structures are closely related to our way of life.
We have been made to think that building gigantic structures are a waste of effort and not environmental-friendly, hence we suppress these thoughts, pondering on just what we are supposed to live for while just barely making a living.
Hello, ZUN as always. I really love gigantic structures.
Hisoutensoku is a game of the episode of misunderstandings between humans and youkai that have been manipulated by their interests in a gigantic object. It's not because a giant robot like on the cover of this soundtrack will show up right? Manipulated by the illusion, everyone can only make their own misguided conclusions.
There is a charm in gigantic structures that cannot be conveyed by photos. In other words, I have an impression that we can't savor it merely by looking at an image of it. Gigantic bridges, grim factories, huge junctions, and even bizarre dams. Lately I've visited these places and suddenly saw them bathed in a new light, and for the modern people who must barely make a living in front of the monitor the reason should be self-evident.
Now, if there's a bar where I can view gigantic structures while drinking sake, please tell me.
A bar near a dam being torn down, maybe.

“While the songs I made for IaMP fit the series a lot better (probably), but for the songs I made for Hisoutensoku, I took more liberties in the composition. Since the story itself is comparatively stranger, I think that's about right. I want to think that, anyway.
Because the title is similar to Hisouten (SWR), I thought it was going to be related at first, and starting coming up with ways to musically tie the two together, but when I saw the scenario I realized they had nothing to do with each other. How did that happen...? That's why the title theme, "Did You See That Shadow?", has phrases from SWR, since it was made before I learned of the difference. It's got nothing to do with wanting to use a lot of songs from SWR coming up in the meetings!
Now, about the three songs I made or rearranged for this OST.
- Unknown X ~ Unfound Adventure
A song in a composition style I'm not terribly good at. I used another song as a reference but that's a secret.
- Our Hisou Tensoku (Full Ver.)
From the guitar solo to the interlude to the final key change, I've faithfully recreated something like THAT song! While making the game, no one would've guessed that the full version would've turned out like this. Naturally.
- A Huge Shadow and a Tiny Conclusion
This song connects the opening theme to the credits theme, tending to use orchestral instruments like the opening. Also two entirely different songs, but I use the same phrase at the beginning and the end.
Finally, something I want to say about the printed soundtrack. After going through the different pictures, it was decided to use the one with Sanae for the cover. While it's something that should be saved for last, like an ending, I wonder how it got such preferential treatment? And the strange thing is that before I knew it, someone already made a garage kit for Hisou Tensoku. Effort like that is frightening, huh? But really, thank you very much.
